In making this pieceI refer to the use of black mirrors by 18th century artists of the Picturesque such as William Gilpin and Claude Lorrain, who used these mirrors as a tool to frame a view whilst evening out the tonal range therefore resting the artists eye.
I use perspective construction lines, another artist tool/technique to create a 3d form from 2d lines rather than their use to render a 3d view in 2d.
Each plane of the mirror reflects a different view, collaged together create a different/other place or Heterotopia, as described by Foucault.
